Tent Map
Launch Tent Grapher Launch Small Screen Version
The tent map, very much like the logistic map, displays some very specific chaotic effects. Look in the activity section to insure that you see all the different things that the tent map can do.

The only state variable set for the tent map is the x variable. The T parameter controls how high the peak is on the graph. |
Some simple activities are:
Notice how whenever the T value is less than .5 the long term behavior is a fixed point at zero.
Notice how the graph goes to a point when T equals 0.5 .
Experiment with T values greater than 0.5 and notice the different chaotic graphs.
