The Logistic map, very much like the tent map, displays some very specific chaotic effects. Look in the activity section to insure that you see all the different things that the Logistic map can do.

The only state variable for the Logistic map is the x variable. The r parameter controls the height of the parabola on the graph. |
Some simple activities are:
Notice when 0 > r > 1 the long term behavior is a fixed point at zero.
Notice how the graph goes to a fixed point other than zero when 1 < r < 3
Try a few graphs with r > 3. Notice the chaos.
Finally, try a graph with r=4
